The future of tourism on the island of Curacao can be described perfectly with one word: growth. With tourism on the rise, there is no better time to make a property investment on the island than now.

From January to November 2023, the Curacao Travel Board say stay-over numbers were higher than expected. The island welcomed over 1.1m visitors which is up 17% from the same period in 2022. The largest percentage of visitors are stay-over versus cruise and day trippers - excellent news for property investors. In November 2023, 78% of all arrivals came from these 5 countries: the Netherlands, USA, Colombia, Canada & Brazil. Daily hotel rates in Curacao are lower (but rising) when compared to the Caribbean as a whole, making it a stand out option for travellers of all budgets. Rising tourism creates more jobs and boosts the local economy.
In December 2023, there was an announcement of two new direct flight routes to the island: Punta Cana / Curacao with Air Century and Miami / Curacao with Suriname Airways. In addition, Delta resumed Atlanta / Curacao flights. This is on top of the new Corendon flights from the Netherlands which were introduced at the beginning of November 2023.
Two new gorgeous recreational seaside parks are in full developmental progression: Marie Pampoen Project and Zakitó. Both projects aim to bring together locals and tourists in their mutual mission to rest, relax and recreate. Wandering shady pathways unite all of the different sections: sports areas (soccer, skate parks, volleyball, play grounds, etc.), kiosks (for dive shops, food, drink) and, of course, palapas and picnic tables for chilling alongside the grand sea entrances. With future opportunity to host events, such as the North Sea Jazz festival, these revolutionized seaside spaces will further help to boost the economy and create more jobs, in addition to the rise of tourism in itself.
From now through 2028, property prices are also predicted to increase. This means one thing: delaying investment will come at a higher price in coming years.
