The Marriott Courtyard hotel that is being built on the Rif will open its doors in 2022 says project developer Gilbert Ricardo of Gold Investment Curaçao. He hopes that the economy will pick up again. This is what Ricardo said in the Antilliaans Dagblad last week. The construction of the Marriott Courtyard hotel began in February of this year, just before the lockdown, due to the corona pandemic. As a result of the crisis, construction has come to a standstill, but according to the project developer, the building process is now in full swing.
This four-star hotel will have 152 rooms, with the possibility of adding an additional 40 rooms in the future. The hotel will offer a bar, two restaurants and 5 meeting rooms. Moreover, the Mega Pier Plaza has commercial spaces for shops, restaurants and a casino. This project is being built next to SVB, opposite Megapier. The developer is a CMC Real Estate and the investors are Gold Investment Curaçao, Vidanova Pension Fund Foundation, Isla Curaçao and the Pension Fund Foundation.
This project will generate an estimated 100 jobs in construction and 78 jobs in the hospitality and administration sector. Curaçao will offer another amazing hotel that provides accommodation and recreational activities for tourists and locals.
