At the end of 2017, the second Megapier has to be a reality. Curaçao Ports Authority assigned the task to a Dutch company, named BAM. The work will start at the second half of this year. The pier will accommodate the largest type of Cruise ships.
The new Megapier will be situated next to the current pier, which was completed in 1999, located at the West Coast of the Sint Annabaai. The name of this new Megapier will be “Tula”. The work, commissioned by the Curaçao Ports Authority include the construction of a nearly 200-meter mooring scaffolding, a 75-meter run jetty, four mooring and land reclamation of coastal protection. The current pier is being renovated.
