Intro

Bottelier is a tourist area on the island of Curacao. Bottelier lies partly on a mountain with beautiful and priceless views. The view has many attractions on the side with sea view. In addition there is beautiful view of the Jan Thiel Lagoon, but also the Caribbean sea and Table Mountain. Under a clear sky, you can even see the outline of Venezuela. Bottelier has been a popular place to live for many years in Curacao.

Living in Bottelier

On Bottelier you will find a diverse range of both villas, cottages and apartments. Nearby is the Caracas Bay and several other bays like the Spanish water and a marina. The remaining fort Beekenburg (1703) and Quarantine building (built in 1883) represent the history.

In the vicinity of Bottelier you will find a number of shops, including the supermarket Vreugdenhil, many smaller stores and the locally famous Dutch bakery ‘The Sun’. You can pick up a Dutch morning newspaper at ‘The Sun’. A little further is a Dutch snack bar. But what is more important, is the short distance to the beaches of Jan Thiel and Caracas Bay, water sports on the Spanish Water and the many restaurants and famous places such as the Seaquarium and Mambo Beach. Willemstad is only a 10 minute drive away. The town is in a nice and safe area while you can enjoy shopping or having a drink at the famous “Handelskade”. Here you can enjoy watching cruise ships that enter the port.

Recreational

Jan Thiel guarantees a perfect day at the beach, for example in Zanzibar, Zest of Papagayo Beach Club. The beaches are equipped with palapas and palm trees, so there`s also plenty of shade for the necessary cooling to be found. The presence of a diving school offers opportunities to dive or learn how to dive and explore. Curacao has a beautiful underwater world. In addition to the beach or scuba diving, there are also plenty of opportunities for fishing enthusiasts, the Blue Finn leaves regularly from Zanzibar for a seafood trip.

In the evenings, you can enjoy the full flavor of the nightlife of Jan Thiel Beach and the vibrant tropical atmosphere. Often there are live performances in one of the beach bars which guarantees a delicious Caribbean evening with accompanying music.
